SOMA Physical Therapy offers ongoing Therapeutic Pilates and Yoga classes by punch card format and a 6-week introduction series of Pilates 101. Classes are designed to learn the fundamental postures and exercises and have a challenging, personalized experience. Our classes are led by qualified instructors who have years of experience modifying postures and exercises so they are safe and beneficial for every individual. Both Pilates and Yoga have beneficial effects on many physical conditions including back & neck pain, and chronic injuries.

Class Descriptions:
Core Essentials: In this challenging and fun class, we will utilize the fundamental principles of breath, stability, and control as we explore the beginning mat work series of the Pilates method. The focus will be on improving mobility and flexibility of the muscles and joints as we strengthen the core muscles that will stabilize and support the spine. You will feel longer and stronger, with improved posture and performance in all of your daily activities and sports.
Get on the Ball: Using the physioball as an added challenge, we will continue to build upon the Pilates principles of stability and control. This class is an excellent opportunity to utilize the skills you have learned in previous Pilates and/or exercise classes to maintain and continue to build a strong core, as well as full body strength and, you will have FUN doing it! Previous Pilates experience recommended.
Pilates101: This class provides an excellent opportunity for beginners to learn the fundamental concepts and exercises of Pilates in the perfect environment and progress to higher-level Pilate’s classes. If you are new to Pilates this is the perfect class for you!
Yoga Basics: This class is the perfect class for the yoga beginner to the more advanced. It integrates simple, effective yoga poses with attention to breath and the biomechanics of correct alignment. This is a great class to begin practicing yoga or continue returning flexibility and length to your spine with proper movements and instruction.
