Donna had endured chronic back pain for nearly fifteen years before discovering Pilates. She had originally moved to the bay area to study to teach Iyengar Yoga, but once she tried Pilates, she fell in love with the method and, like most people who try it, became hooked. After a year of doing Pilates on a regular basis, her back, and entire body was the strongest it had ever been. Donna did her comprehensive certification with master trainer Ellie Herman in San Francisco in 2000, and has been passionately teaching others about the amazing benefits of Pilates ever since. She also received additional training in Therapeutic Pilates with rehabilitation specialist Lizz Roman so she could use the method as effectively as possible in getting her clients not only out of pain, but into the best shape of their lives! Not all bodies are the same, so Donna will tailor each session with you to meet your body''s specific needs as well as your personal goals. Because of her journey through pain and into full body wellness, she brings into each session her compassion, understanding, and personal experience in rehabilitating injuries and chronic pain using the Pilates method.
Kim Nelson helps patients use breathing and authentic movement to relieve their physical pain. She received her training from Body Balance and Physical Mind Institute in Chicago.
For the past 10 years, she has enjoyed rehabilitating patients and getting them back to their previous functional level. She says that teaching gives her the type of gratification that is "similar to putting a puzzle together."
